The UConn School of Nursing celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, with the Dolan Collection providing new exhibits of archival and artifact materials, including student nurse uniforms from the 1940s, 50s, and 70s, a timeline of the School, two changing exhibits of memorabilia, and a new exhibit in honor of our founding dean, Carolyn Ladd Widmer.
Although 75 years may seem only a single lifetime, it occupies half the history of professional nursing education (founded in the 1860s in England by Florence Nightingale and in the 1870s in the United States).
See the Dolan Collection blog for regular updates from our history.
